Ordo Amoris is a member school of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS). We are also working with the Herzog Foundation, a professional organization for school start-ups.
Because the Lord tells us to love him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, we believe that a classical Christian education must include physical training and sport. As our name reminds us, our earthly loves must be appropriately ordered for us to live a virtuous life. Placing athletics in its correct order of importance will be distinctive difference of Ordo Amoris Classical Academy.
As a new school, athletics will grow each year. During our first year, we plan to offer cross country running, archery, and sailing. As our numbers grow, other team sports will be added, as long as they contribute to the vision and mission of our school.
In the mean time, since Ordo Amoris students are registered as homeschool students, there are many options available for students looking to be on sports teams. With homeschool status, students may register for one class in the public school they are zoned in (most choose to take PE in seventh period), which gives them permission to play for the public school. Central Christian also allows homeschool students to participate in their athletic program. Ordo Amoris is willing to help families looking to pursue these options.
Ordo Amoris places a high value on the arts. Music, art, and drama are all incorporated into humanities and history classes. Students will study classical art through a Christian worldview. Each day begins with devotion and singing. Drama is the perfect catalyst for the developing rhetoric student. School wide annual theater productions are an essential part of our curriculum.
